The product is an immunological test for the qu
alitative detection of anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA antibodies (anti-tTG IgA) in venous whole blood (EDTA/ Li heparin), serum, plasma (EDTA/ Li heparin) and capillary blood from the fingertip. The test is an aid in the diagnosis of gluten intolerance.
Gluten intolerance (coeliac disease), also known as sprue in adults, is an autoimmune disease of the tissue of the small intestine. The tissue is attacked by the body's own immune system. Frequently occurring gastrointestinal complaints - such as a bloated stomach or diarrhoea - can be caused by an intolerance to gluten, a protein contained in many foods.
The test is intended exclusively for use by medically trained personnel.
The test cannot be used for diagnosis alone and should be evaluated in the context of the patient's medical history and a confirmatory test performed in a diagnostic laboratory.
